Volumetric study of tracheal diverticulum: a retrospective analysis in computed tomography

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aim: The aim of this study was to retrospectively evaluate the prevalence and morphology (location, diameter, number volume) tracheal diverticulum (TD) on thoracic computed tomography (CT), in a sample Turkish population.
Material Method: conducted over 15 months, from February 2020 April 2021, included 3,860 CT scans, which 1,891 subjects were men rest women. All scans evaluated retrospectively. images reviewed for presence or absence TD axial plane, defined as air sacs around trachea communication with trachea. For volume measurement, contour manually by single radiologist, all patients. Descriptive statistics reported mean±standard deviation (SD). A p value less than 0.05 considered significant.
Results: mean age patients 57.87±14.76 (29-84). In study, incidence calculated be 0.80%. (TDV) maximum transverse diameter (MTD) 983.62±1 509.80 mm3 8.79±6.19 mm, respectively.
Conclusion: we demonstrated volumetric measurement its prevalence. We believe that frequency use clinical practice should increase, measurements provide healthier results measurements.

A multi detector computed tomography survey of tracheal diverticulum.

OBJECTIVE Tracheal diverticulum (DV) is an incidental finding in thoracic computed tomography examinations. Tracheal DV may be associated with chronic cough and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A few studies have investigated the relationship between tracheal DV and COPD. There is still no consensus on the relationship. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of tr...
